Hungary's Tokaj, on UNESCO's World Heritage list since 2022, is one of the world's oldest and revered wine regions. It boasts the oldest wine classification, one that dates back three centuries. It's most famous wine is the renowned Tokaji Aszú – which Louis XV of France described as ‘Vinum Regum, Rex Vinorum' (the Wine of Kings, King of Wines). Today's Tokaj produces wines of all styles – still, sparkling, dry, and sweet – with varieties like Furmint, Hárslevelű, Sárgamuskotály, Kövérszőlő, Kabar, and Zéta.
