Gabor Kardos Sr established the Kardos Winery in 1989, initially selling their wines at their family-owned pub in 
Mád. His son and namesake has been at the helm since the mid-2000s, driving their ethos to produce wines of exquisite quality rather than quantity, with a focus on creating late harvest dessert wines and dry white wines of great character. They achieve this by maintaining a strict regulation of their crop, and through carrying out repeat selection of vines and multiple selective harvests to really maximise the qualities of the Mád terroir. Their limited stocks of Aszu wine are only produced in years of exceptional quality, confirming their philosophy of producing top-class wines.
